Therapy
Working together toward meaningful change
As a clinician, I am dedicated to achieving results for my clients. I believe my clients can find their best solutions, and my job is to help them navigate towards these goals. I take a collaborative approach, working together with my clients to explore and distinguish difficult emotions and their underlying story.
Once my client has a good understanding of where they’ve been and where they are, we can work together to plot a course towards where they want to be.
I take an eclectic approach with an emphasis on solution-focused techniques. Through a collaborative process of exploration and examination, combined with a commitment to measurable progress, I help clients discover the answers that lead to tailored solutions aligned with their individual goals and values. My approach aims to help clients develop greater clarity, confidence, satisfaction, and success in their lives.
My Approach
Individualized, collaborative, and practical
A Collaborative Process
My therapeutic strengths, methods, and results all revolve around my clients’ needs. I am dedicated to understanding each unique individual and their therapeutic and life goals. No two clients are alike, and it is so important to really listen and hear what each individual is saying and feeling, and how this ties into where they are in the present and where they want to be in the future.
A Safe and Supportive Space
I believe therapy begins with feeling heard, understood, respected, and accepted. I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves and exploring difficult or sensitive topics at their own pace. I lead with empathy and active listening, while remaining focused on helping clients make meaningful and measurable progress.
Working With Your Strengths
I really like working with motivated clients who are ready to take on their challenges and find creative, resourceful, and effective practical ways of getting past them. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, individualized, and focused on helping clients recognize their own strengths and resources.
Customized to the Individual
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I believe therapy should be customized to the person sitting in front of me. Through exploration, examination, and collaboration, we work together to understand what is happening, identify challenges and patterns, recognize strengths, and develop practical solutions that support meaningful and measurable progress.
Therapeutic Methods
Approaches I draw from
My approach emphasizes solution-focused treatment along with ACT, CBT, motivational interviewing, and an eclectic approach tailored to each individual.
Solution-Focused Therapy
I use solution-focused therapy to identify strengths, previous successes, clear goals, and practical steps that can move you toward the change you want.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I use ACT to support values-based action, greater psychological flexibility, and a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
I use CBT to help identify patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behavior while developing practical strategies for navigating challenges.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to explore motivation, strengthen commitment to change, and identify personally meaningful next steps.
My role is not to tell you what your answers should be, but to help you discover your own answers and develop solutions that fit your life.
I also recognize that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable. So I want to meet you where you are, without judgment, and create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, respect, and collaboration. You can explore difficult topics at a pace that feels comfortable while knowing that we are working together toward your goals.
What to Expect
Your first session
Get to know each other
In our first session together, we will begin to get to know each other and identify your goals for therapy.
Explore what is happening
We will explore what is happening for you, the issues and challenges you are experiencing, and where you would like to go from here.
Develop a plan
Together, we will begin to develop a customized treatment plan based on your individual needs. From there, we can plot a course toward meaningful change and develop lifelong skills for navigating life stressors and challenges.
You don’t have to navigate through challenging times on your own. Reaching out for guidance or help shows courage and commitment. Therapy can be an important step toward healing, health, growth, and creating a life that is more aligned with your goals and values.
